Ski*go Waxes and Poles

Ski*go is a Swedish company that makes world-class ski waxes and ski-poles. They are a supplier for Cross-Country Canada as well as Biathlon Canada and sponsor numerous world-class athletes.

Ski*go has an excellent range of poles for the recreational skier, fitness skier all the way to the high-performance racer and the prices stay reasonable even for the top of the line full carbon fibre poles.

We Sell Winter Sports!!

We haven't been selling winter sports gear as long as bikes but all of us have been skiing and snowshoeing for much longer. We carry cross country skis from Rossignol, and Atomic. We carry snowshoes from Tubbs.

Rossignol Cross-Country Skis

New to our store for this winter are Rossignol cross-country skis. Rossignol has a wide product range encompassing high-end race skis all the way to excellent recreational skis with waxless bases for the first time skier. Rossignol uses the NNN system which is the most popular binding system for cross-country skis as well as their revolutionary NIS adjustable binding placement system.

We carry an excellent selection of Rossignol skis and boots for the NNN style bindings including Rossignol's very trick NIS system that allows easy removal, switching and position changes of the bindings.

Atomic Cross-Country Skis

Atomic skis hail from Austria where each and every ski has been made since 1955. Atomic is known for their excellent skis and use the Salomon bindings which are the main alternative to the NNN system.

We carry an excellent selection of Atomics classic and skating skis that are suitable for everyone from the first time skier to the expert. Along with skis we carry a selection of both men's and women's boots to match the Salomon bindings.

Tubbs Snowshoes

Tubbs has been making snowshoes since 1906 when it was founded in Norway, Maine. It has since moved ot Vermont and is now owned by K2 but one thing hasn't changed in the last 100 years, they still make excellent snowshoes for a wide variety of activites.

We carry an excellent selection of snowshoes that are a great choice to keep your fitness in winter or even for some backcountry exploring. Snowshoes are really gaining in popularity because they are cheap, easy to learn and use, and convenient because you can snowshoe anywhere, any time. This makes them perfect for todays busy schedules.

Where to Ski

We have several areas with groomed cross-country trails in the city. The most popular are Wildwood golf course with a 5km loop on the east side of the city, and Kinsmen park with a 3km loop downtown. Holiday Park on the west side of the cityand is popular because of its sheltered location. Another groomed trail is by the Forestry Farm.

Outside of the city, there are good trails to the north at Eb's Trails on the way to Prince Albert, Carleton Trails by Humboldt, Little Red River Park at Prince Albert, and of course Waskesui.

Where to Snowshoe

You can snowshoe anywhere and anytime! Parks, golf course and the paths by the river make excellent locations for a short stroll. Interested in traveling to a new place to snowshoe, head out to Blackstrap and stomp around on the trails around the old ski hill or farther afield, Waskesui is an excellent destination.

Ski Service

Along with selling skis and accessories, we service skis. So if you have a pair of skis that you would like hot-waxed to restore your glide or you have a set of new skis that need binding mounted - we can do that for you. Our prices are competitive and we treat your skis as if they were our own!

Winter Clothing

Helly Hanson is brand new to our store for 2010. They are makers of superb baselayers, jackets, shoes and weather protection. Their base-layers can keep you dry and warm whether you are skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, running, or are just outside this winter. We carry two weights of their underwear in tops and bottoms in both men's and women's styles to fit you and your requirements.

Sugoi is a segment leader in cycling, triathlon and running. Their fall/winter jackets not only make good cycling clothes, they also make excellent additions to your skiing wardrobe. There is no point having two different jackets for both activities when one will work for both cycling and skiing. We also have a selection of Sugoi toques, neck tubes and socks to keep your extremities warm.

Ski*go has an excellent selection of gloves suitable not only for cross-country skiing but for a host of winter activities. In addition to Ski*go gloves we also carry fall and winter cycling gloves from Sugoi that completes are selection of winter sports gloves.
